Have you ever watched a movie where you noticed the set and decor more than the story in the film itself? Some of my favorite movies are my favorites not only because of the stories they tell, but the awesome houses they feature in them! Sometimes I'll search online to see if there are any screen shots of the set of a movie, just so that I can get a better look at the design and decor.
Thanks to Julia's site, I don't have to hunt down images online of my favorite homes! "Hooked on Houses," which I'm sure you've heard of before, features tons of images of homes from TV shows and movies. Some homes that top my list include: 1. The Break-up 2. Life As We Know It 3. This is 40 4. It's Complicated 5. The Holiday (Amanda's House) Which homes are your favorite?

Welcome to my site "Design Enthusiast!" I've created a few websites for work before, but I've never really made one for myself. I finally decided to dive in and create this site as I venture into the world of design. All of the stuff that you'll find here will consist of interior design and decor, as well as other details that catch my interest. I decided for this first post I would feature what would probably be my ultimate dream home! The images below are taken from the Toronto home of designer Ingrid Oomen. I'm a big fan of white kitchens, and I love a simple subway tile back splash. The contrasting floors and industrial style stools are also a unique touch to this kitchen's overall look. I think that black trim around windows help to make a space very sophisticated. I love the black french doors that open up to the backyard. The marble counter tops are also a favourite of mine. Carrara marble is always classic! This bedroom really gives the feeling of a comfortable and relaxing space. The glass window cabinets and french doors make this room absolutely beautiful. I love the look of the canopy bed frame. I really love this simple backyard. The exterior colours of the house are also very classy.
What I love most about this house is how everything works so well together from the colours to the materials, it all flows so well throughout the home. I also think that it would be easy to incorporate pops of colour with the seasons through the use of a variety of accessories from pillows to picture frames. This is definitely one of my many dream homes :) Thanks for stopping by! Let me know what you think. -- D |
